Pangea Propulsion (formerly Pangea Aerospace) is developing aerospike engines, considered the "holy grail" of propulsion due to their efficiency at all altitudes. Their flagship Arcos engine, designed for upper-stage applications, aims for reusability and high performance using liquid methane and liquid oxygen. Arcos builds upon the lessons learned from their first demonstrator, Demo P1, and utilizes innovative solutions like dual regenerative cooling and 3D printing to overcome historical challenges associated with aerospike engines. Pangea is also developing other propulsion solutions, including the Nereus in-space thruster and the Cryox methalox engine, aiming to become a comprehensive propulsion provider for the aerospace industry. They plan to conduct integrated tests and achieve their first flight before the end of the decade.
